Okay, story time! I warn you though, this is kind of a good one. Don’t scroll down and spoil the ending.
All right, first – a question for my faithful readers. When was the last time I wore this shirt?Try and ignore the 7 foot goliath beside me.
Answer? This picture was taken on March 28th, over a month ago, when I was near Leiden in the Netherlands. I spent a night there before I went to Amsterdam, though I never blogged about it. Well, that was the last time I wore it, and this photo is the last piece of evidence that I ever even owned it. It turns out that I forgot it there in a bag of dirty laundry with a whole bunch of socks and pairs of old underwear.
Well, get this:This picture was taken just this week, in Nice! Pictured above are Mike, Hannah and Andrew. I met them a month earlier in Leiden. They’re Canadian, too – from Winnipeg, as a matter of fact. Here’s a photo with them in the background:
I feel kind of bad awkwardly cropping out that couple below.
It turns out that Andrew (who’s wearing the same sweater in both images) found my shirt in Leiden and has been wearing it for the last month. While I went to Brussels, London and did a tour of Spain and Portugal, Andrew and my shirt went to Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy. It was a complete coincidence that we all met up again in Nice. It’s so lucky that the people who found my shirt even decided to take it with them! Andrew reassured me, however, that the shirt was worn proudly the day the Capitals were eliminated. =D
Anyhow, so I was in Nice for a few days. Nice is another city on the coast of the south of France. It has a pebble beach, something I’ve never seen before:
I happened to be there on May 1st, a French national holiday(labour day - when nobody works in France). I’m always so lucky to come on days with enormous festivals. There were people on strike protesting and blasting music up and down their main street:
Nice is the home to the incredible Russian Orthodox Cathedral:
Walking around Nice, you stumble upon many churches and Cathedrals. This one is another Notre-Dame cathedral, I think:
There’s also a famous fresh fruit and flower market at the base of the mountain in the south east of Nice:
After doing a bit of shopping for lunch (and let’s not forget to mention the pastries), I climbed up the mountain nearby with some friends from the hostel. On top of the mountain is a park:
It’s actually quite a hike to get to the top of the park. The view actually gets really pretty:
We decided to have a picnic there:Mmm… fresh avocado…

I spent most of the next day in Monaco and travelling through several Italian cities that I’m going to tell you about later.
You didn't go to St Paul?
